The acting manager of the chemistry department, has twenty years of commercial
laboratory experience and has extensive experience with analytical instrumentation
as well as classical chemical analytical methods. He has successfully
managed many large projects.

To maintain reliability and accuracy of results, a stringent quality control
program is a major factor. At EMS a program of AIHA proficiency tests,
U.S. EPA Performance evaluation studies, NVLAP bulk and air asbestos proficiency
testing, blind samples, and interlaboratory testing programs ensure quality
data.
EMS has a large, well-trained staff that can accommodate emergencies without
compromising quality of the analysis. EMS' staff regularly
attend local and national meetings and review the literature in order to
keep abreast of changes in technology.
Environmental hazardous waste laboratory employs EPA and Standard Methods
for analysis of wastewater, soil and sludge samples. Industrial hygiene
analyses are performed according to the latest NIOSH and OSHA methods.
All bulk samples for asbestos analysis are analyzed in accordance
with EPA 600/R-93/116 by PLM. X-ray diffraction verification of negative
PLM results on floor tile sample is available. Scanning and transmission
electron microscopy for further verification and quantitation are available.
