Lead Analysis
EMS Laboratories, Inc., provides lead analysis for the Lead-Based Paint Hazard
Control Program in various types of samples which include:
1. Lead in soil
2. Lead in air
3. Lead in dust wipes
4. Lead in water
5. TCLP extract-liquid
6. STLC extract-liquid
Because of a long history of metal analysis for industrial hygiene and environmental
purposes EMS has the personnel and equipment to provide the above services for
laboratory analysis of lead in the above matrices. The laboratory has a Perkin
Elmer 1100B Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrograph (FAAS) and a combination Perkin
Elmer AAnalyst 300 Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrograph with a HGA 800 Graphite
Furnace attachment (and AS 72 Autosampler) which provides the necessary sensitivity
for drinking water analysis. There are three trained analysts for using the FAAS
and two analysts who have the necessary training for the Graphite Furnace AAS.
With this equipment we can analyze over 200 soil, air or dust wipe samples per
single shift and over 40 drinking water samples in a shift including the necessary
QC samples.
EMS has the appropriate certifications for the various methods of analysis.
It has performed proficiency tests for each of the above analysis for many years,
and throughout these test programs EMS has always been proficient. Test results
are always available.
All samples are analyzed by degreed chemists each having 10
or more years experience.
